The simulation game

ECOMANIA is an economic simulation game. During an ECOMANIA game day, participants take on the roles of members of the government, company board members, and trade union representatives. In their roles, they conduct salary negotiations, make price decisions and hold press conferences.

Experience the impacts interactively

Group-based experiments and their impacts are simulated and calculated with computer support using unique software. The aggregated effects are visualized on the ECOMANIA game board, making macroeconomic indicators such as economic growth, inflation, unemployment, etc. tangible for the participants.

More Information

ECOMANIA offers, as part of a special simulation day, the opportunity to:

explore economic topics such as economic growth, unemployment, inflation, monetary policy, fiscal policy and foreign trade in a fun and interactive way, and to create links to business-related topics such as balance sheets and profit and loss accounts.
understand economics not in theory, but instead to experience it in practice – enabling participants to recognize interrelationships, interpret current economic events, and better assess the significance of economic actions in professional and political life.
spark a lasting interest in economics: Our aim is to promote long-term interest in economic interrelationships in order to develop a deeper understanding of economic processes.
